The Many Bags of Katie Holmes

The-Many-Bags-of-Katie-Holmes

Before two weeks ago, I never had all that many thoughts about Katie Holmes. She’s beautiful, of course, and she seems extremely devoted to little Suri, who looks more and more like her Mini Me every day. A couple of months ago, I got caught in a Katie/Suri paparazzi scrum on my walk home from the grocery store, and it seemed to me at the time that living that kind of life must be very isolating, perhaps even dreadfully lonely. I didn’t fret about it for long, though; it’s hard to feel too much sympathy for the young, beautiful and incredibly wealthy.

And then, about two weeks ago, Katie Holmes staged a divorce-filing sneak attack full of the sort ballsy genius of which I had never previously assumed her capable. She came out with her metaphorical guns blazing against a husband that’s much more well-established and powerful than she is within their industry, and that’s no small thing. Not only that, but whatever dirt she had on noted crazyperson Tom Cruise must be insane if the prospect if it coming to light panicked his legal team so much that less than two weeks after filing, Katie has her requests met, her divorce papers signed, and her daughter safe in her care in New York. We doff our hats to the take-no-prisoners way she’s handled what could have been a mud-slinging mess while still getting her independence in a timely manner, and for that, we’d like to offer Ms. Holmes the greatest tribute we can provide in these parts: a look through her handbag collection, both past and present.

Let’s start with the present. In the time since her divorce was announced, Katie has been spotted everywhere carrying a simple woven leather tote bag with few, if any, distinguishing marks. The frayed edges and woven pattern indicate that it’s a Henry Beguelin Tote, but the pared-down look is something Katie’s come to embrace in the last year or so. You can shop Henry Beguelin via Neiman Marcus.

Cate Blanchett Doubles Up with Roger Vivier and Givenchy Bags

Cate Blanchett Roger Vivier Prismick Shoulder Bag Givenchy Lucrezia Satchel

Cate Blanchett was recently spotted heading to the theater in Manhattan for her matinee performance of The Maids. She’s carrying both a quilted, burgundy red Roger Vivier Prismick Shoulder Bag, which is a new-for-fall variation on one of the brand’s classic bags, and a taupe Givenchy Lucrezia Satchel. The aptly named Prismick is currently available in blue for $2,820 at MyTheresa.com. A new wine-colored version of the Lucrezia is also available for pre-order for$2,490 at Bergdorf Goodman.

Cate is extremely fond of Roger Vivier’s Prismick; we saw her with a two-tone black and white version of this bag in NYC last year. Frankly, I’m surprised we don’t see more celebs carrying this elegant design. In other news, I’m getting the distinct impression that jumpsuits are going to be really hot for fall amongst the NYC celeb set. (See also: Maggie Gyllenhaal.)

Bag Deals August 15

I’m not venturing much when I say that some people like neutral bags, while others prefer color. (Print people: we also have a bag for you.) During most times of the year, one variety of bag is far easier to find than others, but during this time of fall transition, you can find pretty much any color you’d like, from bright turquoise to graphite. In this week’s edition of Bag Deals, we have a little bit of both.

The Many Bags of Taylor Swift, Part 2

The Many Bags of Taylor Swift Part 2

In some ways, it seems like Taylor Swift has been daring me to write a second investigation into her handbag collection all summer. Every day when I open our photo agency’s archives, there are new photos of her walking to and fro in New York City, enjoying her morning constitutional, her evening constitutional and sometimes several constitutionals in between, generally wearing a two-piece matching outfit and a handbag dangling from her forearm. To me, her intentions are clear.

Even if you don’t believe that Taylor Swift is trying to surreptitiously communicate with me through the paparazzi, taking a look through her quirky handbag collection is an interesting study in celebrity branding. Instead of carrying things that others have decided are popular or of-the-moment, Swift sticks to less recognizable options from both major brands and independent designers alike. The result is that she always looks like herself instead of looking like an It Bag billboard, just like the last time we took a look at her handbag habits in 2014.

Ferragamo FW14 Runway Collection Digital Trunk Show Bagjpg

Ferragamo is riding a heat wave at the moment. The brand struck handbag gold with its latest major push, the Fiamma, and followed it up by enticing its fans with an online film series and now a digital trunk show.

For its Fall 2014 collection, Salvatore Ferragamo tapped Alexandra Richards, Leigh Lezark, Genevieve Jones and Princess Melusine Ruspoli for its campaign. The four ladies were shot on location around New York, and each picked her favorite looks from Massimiliano Giornetti’s fall runway collection.

I already adore Ferragamo bags, but after seeing these photos, I have a new appreciation of all things Ferragamo. Fall will be here before we know it, so start picking out your fall must-haves; you can start by visiting the Ferragamo Digital Trunk Show to swoon over the collection.

How To Spot A Coach Knockoff Handbag From Home

Other Brands

Telling how to spot a Coach knockoff handbag is probably the easiest thing to do. I bet your next question is why. Well, in today’s article, I’m going to tell and show you what to look for when buying a Coach purse replica.

Coach knockoff handbag

But first, let me tell you a bit more about the brand. Coach has been in this business for years now, opening outlet stores everywhere and offering the opportunity to buy their handbags online. Another great thing is that they’ve changed their website about a year ago and now you can zoom in and see even the tiniest detail of a bag.

If you make a quick google search on how to spot a Coach knockoff handbag you will find tons on information, useful or sometimes confusing. But Coach handbags have a few unique features that make it easy to tell if you’re looking at a Coach bag replica or an authentic.

So if you ever want to buy a Coach handbag replica or an authentic here are some quick tell-tale signs to keep you on the right path.

  • Coach is known for making sturdy handbags so if you see signs of weak or flimsy material (leather or canvas) walk away
  • Check the canvas, stitching, lining, the famous Coach pattern and color. These are important features when buying a bag, no matter if it’s a Coach purse replica or authentic.
  • Check the hardware; it should be a bit heavy and it shouldn’t come off if pried.
  • Check the buckles. Do they work correctly, are they coming loose? If so, walk away!

But things get harder if you’re buying Coach handbags online, since you don’t have the luxury of holding the bag is your hand. Don’t worry, I have the solution for this situation too  Here is what you need to know and check:

Did You Know That Even Authentic Coach Bags Are Made In China

I’m serious! Authentic Coach bags are made in China, same as Tory Burch bags. So if you even come across a bag with a tag that says “made in China” don’t walk away.

The Coach Pattern – How Many C’s?

Same as the Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas or the Gucci Monogram Canvas, the Coach pattern is also one of the most famous and replicated designs. The problem is that most of the people think they know how it looks like and end up with a terrible Coach knockoff handbag. But the rule is simple – if a bag has a pattern with a single C on each row, walk away! It’s an obvious fake! There should always be two C’s on a pattern, rotated between vertical and horizontal. Another important feature is the CC should be connected at the serif.

The Importance Of The Dust Bag

If you ask me, I would say that it doesn’t mean a thing. Of course it’s nice to have good dust bag for each bag, no matter the brand but that’s it! I never worry about its look or authenticity. But since there are many girls interested in this aspect, I decided to clear things out. Coach bags always come in brown dust bags with red drawstring and stitching. Unless you’re buying small accessories – then the dust bag should be white with red a red Coach logo on the bottom right hand corner.

Coach Tags – What Do You Need Them For?

Ok, I get the idea! You need a beautiful purse or a perfect Coach purse replica! But it makes no sense to worry about the tags. What do you need them for anyway? I’m not here to judge, on the contrary, I’m here to help, so here is how the Coach tags should look like.

But like I always say, it also depends on the model and the year. You can find Coach tags both in metal or leather but make sure the letters are perfectly centered and the stitching is straight.

The Coach Creed Patch – Or Simply Put, The Serial Number Leather Tab

Authentic Coach Creed Patch

Authentic Coach Creed Patch

You can find this creed patch inside any Coach bag, no matter the manufacturing year. What it does matter is the looks and the way the serial number is embossed. Newer bags have the serial number printed on this creed patch while older models have it embossed into the leather.

The paragraph should be in all capital letters, the serial number should start with “No” (for #). The serial code should have 2 letters, 2 numbers, a dash and 4 or 5 more numbers, depending on the model.

I think that’s about all. But like I said, there are tons of information on how to spot a Coach Knockoff handbag and these guides can also help you choose a good Coach purse replica.

Read more replica site reviews to find out where to get the best Coach replica handbags. If you have any questions, you can leave a message in the comment section below or send me an email.

Good luck, and smart shopping!
